Prenatal Classes

To help get you ready for you special delivery Central Mississippi Medical Center offers a variety of education classes on a rotating basis throughout the year.

Please register by your 5th month to ensure class availability.

Mother and Baby Classes At Central Mississippi Medical Center:

How to Grow a Healthy Baby for Teen Moms- Childbirth education classes designed with teenage mothers in mind.

Prepared Childbirth Classes- Learn and practice skills to help with the aches and pains of pregnancy, labor, delivery and for many years to come.

Infant CPR
- Caregivers can learn CPR for infants 0 to 1 year of age. This class is provided for the family and friends of infants delivered at Central Mississippi Medical Center.

Great Expectations and Hospital Introduction
- learn about Central Mississippi Medical Center, your pregnancy, and the changes you can expect over the next several months. This class was designed for early pregnancy prior to 24 weeks.

The Gift of Motherhood
- This class covers information on labor, delivery, anesthesia, postpartum care and basic baby care.

Breast feeding class
- Taught by a Certified Lactation consultant, learn the positive aspects of breast-feeding and the different techniques for successful breastfeeding.

Sibling class
- Brothers and Sisters of babies that will be delivered at Central Mississippi Medical Center can have a better understanding of what to expect when mom goes to the hospital and how to help when the baby comes home.
